Heart: 'tropic' meanings

  1. Lusitropic: loose is relaxed. So it refers to 'Relax heart'.
  2. Inotropic: when heart wall contracts, it moves inward. Refers to 'Contract heart'.
  3. Chronotropic: 'chrono-' means 'time'. Refers to 'Heart rate' (of SA node impulses).
  4. Dromotropic: only one left, it refers to 'Conduction speed' by default.
