Who can use LifeHugger?

Publishers:

Anyone qualified in medicine or related fields can use Lifehugger to publish content.

Audience:

As most of the content is added by the community of professors, medical practitioners and medical students it would mainly serve educational purposes. And if visitors can find answers to what you are looking for from here we will be happy it happened.

What do I need to do to sign up for this site?
  • You can register at the 'Create new account' page.
  • After you complete and submit the form, we will send an email to the address you provided. Clicking on the confirmation link will complete the sign up process.

 

Why should I Log in?
Log in to gain full access to all the features at LifeHugger. 
  • Create, upload and share- mnemonics, powerpoints, images and videos.
  • Download listed powerpoints.
  • Comment and rate your favourite content on LifeHugger.
  • Interact with the community.
  • Take online tests and more.
What can I publish ?

Lifehugger currently supports the following content types and file formats:

 Audio Podcast : mp3 files can be uploaded.

 Image : jpeg, png, svg and gif files can be uploaded.

 Mnemonic : Can be typed in using the 'Mnemonic' submission form.

 Powerpoint : pps, ppt, pptx, ppsx files can be uploaded. As of now, we only accept new powerpoints by graduates for better compliance with HONCode.

 Video : Videos from Google Videos, Metacafe, Vimeo and You Tube can be embedded.

 Test   : Users can take online Tests.

 Page  : These are wiki pages and can be edited by members of  Volume.

Do I need to create an account to publish content?

 Yes. As content is published in the publisher's name all users need to sign up with a valid email address before publishing content on LifeHugger. Creating an account is free and easy. Register now.

Do I need to register to access content on lifehugger?

No. LifeHugger is a free access website. All content is free to be viewed.

Does all the content I submit get published?

No. The content goes through a routine moderation process before getting published. This will help to keep a check on quality of all new content. You will receive updates via email from the moderator regarding the content soon after the process. Please create or upload your content and allow a week for the submission to be approved. You will be updated when the content is published. You can see the people currently on the moderator panel here.

How do I add content?

Mnemonics: After logging in, navigate to the medical mnemonics affiliate home page. There you will find an 'Add a Mnemonic' link in the right sidebar. Click on the link and you will be presented with the mnemonic creation form.

Powerpoints: After logging in, navigate to the medical powerpoints affiliate home page. There you will find an 'Add a Powerpoint' link in the right sidebar. Click on the link and you will be presented with the powerpoint creation form.

Image: After logging in navigate to the medical images affiliate home page. There you will find an 'Add an Image' link in the right sidebar. Click on the link and you will be presented with the image creation form.

Video: After logging in, navigate to the medical videos affiliate home page. There you will find an 'Embed a Video' link in the right sidebar. Click on the link and you will be presented with the video embed form.

Wiki page: As of now Wiki pages can be created and edited only by Volume editors.
