Also remember, Basale is the base/deepest layer as the name denotes.

Esthiomene refers to vaginal and rectal stricture and elephantiasis of vulva.

The 'groove' in the Groove sign refers to the depression that separates the enlarged inguinal and femoral nodes. The groove overlies the inguinal ligament which separates the two groups of nodes.
